Sister-land

A unique collaborative dance. The moving human form here appears alien, unrecognisable and mesmerising. Bulging shapes mirror the growth of the tree, whilst its structure provides a platform and direction for the dancers to move within. This piece communicates instinctive connectedness with others and with nature.

Tasmania

This video piece, titled 'Ben' is simply named after the person that told me to seek out these dramatic rock formations found in Freycinet National Park. The structure of the body here navigates the crevices and corners of these natural sculptures with its own bodily intelligence: letting go of what makes sense and embracing the shapes of nature.

A contemporary dance exploring evolving shapes, colour and sound. The ambiguous forms created by dancers as they move in response to attached incongruous objects hold a new identity that is abnormal and anthropomorphic.

Dance is the medium through which the body explores the possibilities of movement within the constraints of a particular garment. The set of four synchronised movers eventually reproduces and multiplies into a kaleidoscopic effect where the dance dominates the viewer's vision. Evolving shapes become ambiguous life forms; the human shape simultaneously recognisable yet unfamiliar.
